Kathryn was placed in an orphanage when she was a month old. The orphanage, Guiyang Children's Welfare Institute, has a foster care program that puts the girls in homes perhaps within a week of their arrival at the insitute. Today during our visit we saw where she slept when she arrived, and got to play with some of the children. There were almost as many boys as girls, and they were all really happy to see us and the babies. The children there are not orphans and will not be adopted. They are there for different reasons and most will be reunited with their parents. We were allowed to take pictures but asked not to post any photos of the children. Too bad, they were all really cute!
